Owner/Operator of Command Copywriting

I am a graduate of West Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree in mass communication. I have spent the last 3+ years with TAG Publishing of Amarillo writing, marketing, and designing books and book layouts for authors. I started Command Copywriting over two and a half years ago to pursue my interests outside of the publishing industry - cars old and new. To learn more about my interests and see photos of my '66 Mustang, visit my personal website.

I started Command Copywriting in January of 2009 as a way to blend my marketable talents of writing and designing with my hobbies and interests. After two and a half years I have decided to expand my services to include web design and hosting, which has been an interest since I built my first website for fun in my early teens. I have designed and maintained websites for Bistro to Go in Canyon, granite countertop installer The Ultimate Surface, and Granados Autos, a used car dealership in Amarillo, as well as several more websites as part of the curriculum at WT. Moving forward, I would love the opportunity to build and maintain more websites for auto dealers and classic car enthusiasts and restorers.
As a mass communication major at West Texas A&M University, I studied television news writing, feature writing, journalism, marketing, advertising, digital photography, and website design and creation. I was the news editor on the WT newspaper, the Prairie. On the Prairie staff, I was able to put into practice the many skills I had been studying such as copy editing, page layout, news writing, interviewing, and more. I collected many published news pieces and began an internship with the small Amarillo newspaper, the Amarillo Independent. With the Amarillo Indy I covered local government and added to a growing lists of published news articles. To see a sampling of my news articles, you can view my portfolio on my personal website at ChristopherSeymour.net.
After graduation in 2008, I found a marketing position at TAG Publishing, a small book publisher in Amarillo. As with most small companies, TAG Publishing requires its employees to be multi-faceted, and I was no different. Where I had mostly written in college, I was now finding I needed to master Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator in order to effectively market our authors. I have designed and created outright or had a hand in the design and creation of over 20 book covers and as many layouts; designed and created publicity kits, postcards, posters; designed, written, and laid out the company newsletter; I have even written two book-length manuscripts. Among my favorite projects: aiding in the creation of vacuum cleaner (and marketing, as it turns out) guru David Oreck's forthcoming book and laying out an ebook for a company called JumpForward just before it appeared on ABC's reality TV show Shark Tank. To see examples of my book covers, layouts, and marketing materials created for TAG authors, visit my personal website.
